You said this was the type of film used in movie theathers , not so true that was 35mm as I worked in one. We did have a 16mm projector and it might be used for showing a cartoon now and again but seldom did we use. At the second theather I worked we never used 16mm .

@Kinematographer Gives that feeling doesn't he? I can present better than him blindfolded and both hands tied behind my back.

@RobtRobt An 2nd rater of a collector/expert "cough" at best, an opportunist suckering others at the worst.

A simple google search will get you better info than this.
HOW do you talk about this subject and NOT mention Vinegar Syndrome? THAT is something you MUST know to look for as the first indicator of a serious issue. It will spread and destroy all your other reels if you don't catch it immediately and deal with it. Also color films (if they are not LPP or IB Technicolor) will have cyan fade (turn red) over time. Poor storage just accelerates the breakdown.

@Kinematographer I was getting the idea that he has more influence to get himself presented as a host for some program rather than actually demonstrate his knowledge about the format.

@APyleOfVinyl Agreed, film is very organic and the flesh tones on a person which digital recording is unable equal right now. I only wish I had an Arri SR or Aaton on me right now so I could demonstrate it more and more to people. Best part of film is that a magnet won't @%^& up your camera, that it can handle extreme weather better and can still look good after 30-100 years if stored properly.

Billy - hunt for them where ever you find vintage film being sold. Look on eBay. You might also look at some Internet film collecting forums such as 16mm-films or 16mmfilmtalk. You will have to register to be able to access those forums, but registration is free.

As a long time collector of 16mm film I have to say that this guy doesn't know much about film at all.
