But not all horror remakes suck Toe, what about The Thing or The Fly with The Blob, Cat People, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, My Bloody Valentine 3D, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, King Kong, The Hills Have Eyes, Last House on The Left, The Ring, Toolbox Murders, 2001 Maniacs and others?

The original is one of Romero's weakest movies no where as good as Creepshow or his Living Dead movies.
Not all remakes suck for the horror genre. What about The Thing, The Fly, The Blob, Dawn of the Dead, Hills Have Eyes, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Cat People, King Kong, Toolbox Murders, Last House on The Left, Night of the Living Dead, 2001 Maniacs, The Ring, etc. all great examples of horror remakes done right/

Great point. It's less scary if you know who is infected.
I have never head of the original intill recently.
In the remake it looks like the infected people at least look normal for a while. They do not change instantly. There is a line in the trailer that says " He is infected !" The next line is "How do you know ?" So, there is a little of not knowing who is infected.
I bet it is the studio that said "Make them look like zombies." "That's what the kids like."
