http://musicproductioncourses.net Mixing tutorial - In this video Dave shows how to parallel process kick and snare drums for a bigger sound. Sometimes this is known as the NYC bus compression 'trick'. This and many more tips and tricks are in his sound engineering courses

  • With parallel processing are you effectively doubling up each instrument, except one track is processed? Apologies if that's a dumb question. Thanks for sharing.

  • @GrumpyOB1 I'm not sure I understand the question but I think the answer is no if I do understand the question! Err, hope that helps

  • Has anyone got a link to his YouTube channel?

  • @GrumpyOB1 yes through using bus channels, it gives you a better control over the mix as a pose to processing the instrument channel directly. usually you don't double every instrument but group them together with similar sounds (drums, guitars, vocals etc)...

  • thx for the tute.. id probably wind up the attack a little bit on the pp kick so the 'snap' of the kick comes thru but i guess its just personal preference...cheers again!

  • Thank you, much appreciated... Now i am back off to work. Stay^

  • Good stuff mate
