This musical concert, organized by Pakhtoonkhwa Arts and Culture Project, was held at Navy Auditorium Hall, Karachi on December 6, 2010.

Host: Bakhtiar Khattak
With the name of Allah, the most Merciful and Mighty
Assalam-o-alaikum
I welcome you all to this cultural show, organized by Pakhtoonkhwa Arts and Culture Project. People belonging to different areas of Pakhtoonkhwa are participating in it. As you know that situation in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa unfortunately, is disturbing for the last several years. This has damaged all walks of life, especially the art, artists and writers. Efforts are underway to revive cultural activities. The Pakhtoonkhwa Art and Culture Project arranged cultural programmes in Peshawar and Islamabad. This is the third programme of the series being held in Karachi. The main purpose of this show is not just to entertain you by listening to songs but to encourage artists to express their sentiments before you as they have been badly affected by the disturb situation in Pakhtoonkhwa. The whole of Pakhtoonkhwa, Particularly Malakand Agency, has suffered the most. Now, I invite the host, Mohammad Rome Khan to the stage to express his views. He is regularly organizing such cultural activities and is always a leading figure in organizing such nice cultural programmes.
Muhammad Rome: Thank you Bakhtiar Khattak for giving me this honour. This is our joint programme. My other colleagues are also collectively responsible for organizing such programmes. Being a cultural programme, it is not suited for speech. However, I would talk in brief about this programme. As Bakhtiar stated, Pakhtoons have suffered in every walk of life due to the ongoing crisis and militancy. Pakhtoons even today are faced with problems wherever they are. We suffered human losses. We lagged behind in education. The third and the most serious loss has been inflicted to our culture. Government and non-governmental organizations are engaged in rehabilitation work in other fields. But unfortunately, no one is caring about our culture, whether it is government organizations or civil society. Keeping in view this objective, we including Usman Olasyar, Imran Ahmad Khan, Bakhtiar Khattak and many other fellows, are working to keep alive Pakhtoon culture by one way or the other. So far music is concerned; it is a very delicate language of carrying message. We want to utilize it for conveying the message of peace and prove to the world that Pakhtoons are not terrorists or having militant ideas. We are peaceful people. This programme proves that how much love Pakhtoons have for their culture and music.
When our culture was alive, we were peaceful but when our culture was attacked and damaged, we lost love for the country and went in the wrong direction. I hope that all of you would fully support us in this cause. I thank friends from Karachi including Niaz Khan, Sherdali Khan, Amir Zaren, Bashir Jan Lala, Qasim Jan Lala and many other honourables who helped us in organizing this show. Our political leaders are working in their respective fields but we should promote cultural activities. I hope you would continue extending helping hand to us.
Thank you all.
