Background: I bike to and from work across Los Angeles every day I can. In 2008, out of 257 work days, I biked 197 of them between my home in Silver Lake and my office in Westchester and back(a distance of about 30 miles one-way). My combined mileage total for the year -- both commuting and recreational riding -- totaled 6,600 miles. I aim to beat that number in 2009, and with my handlebar-mounted digicam I plan to continue what I started last summer: posting timelapse vids of my routes. Such as this morning trip, which involves a relatively standard route.
Hi!
Thanks for sharing.
Did you manage to beat that distance in 2009?
I'm thinking about commuting to work the same way!
The distance 52 km each way (a little over 30 miles).
Was it to hard when you started (I have long steep hills in the way)?
Regards.

@onurbepilif77 Thanks! I did end up topping my 2008 total, finishing 2009 with 6741 miles. It wasn't very difficult when I began bike commuting, as I'd been doing it to one degree or another much of my adult life. In fact, it became a very fulfilling (and fun) way to get to work that I enjoyed. But then again I didn't have much in the way of hills to contend with. I wish you luck with your bike commute efforts!
