Beeston Horse sales May 2009

Beeston horse sales.

I have tried to remain neutral in the making of this video, as I would like to know peoples views of what really goes on there.

There are many people who condemn horse auctions and would have you believe that the horses are sent to the slaughter houses.

I cannot confirm or deny that this happens, however I have never been aware of the meat man being there.

I know many people who have bought horses from Beeston (Myself included) and have been extremely happy with the outcome.

It depends on the kind of horse sale 4 there 2 b killbuyers present or not. Show horse sales wont have them cuz of the high prices but @ average horse sales there will usually be kill buyers. I like auctions except for that horrible fact. ive gottens 1 of my best horses from 1. Unfortunetly the staff @ the auction I go 2 admit that they sell horses to kill buyers and their co owner is a kill buyer so they usually have at least 4 pens fulla horses 4 slaughter, mostly herd reduction mustangs :(.

@theWolfQueen13 Hi. I am gussing (becouse you referd to mustangs) that you are in America and refering to American horse sales. Beeston is a UK horse and cattle market. Although deelers, traiders and gypsys are commen. Kill buyers are much thiner on the ground hear. Also thay canot buy the horses in the ring, only thoughs that are not sold are bought by the slaughter houses and only with the owners knowledge and concent. Most owners opt to take them home again.

@puzzlepony its on the outskirts of Beeston. i dont know the address though. its pretty rare that u can get an amzing horse from here as most of them are unwanted and cant be sold privately. and now i think about it the gelding that i saw wasnt exactly much compared to some horses that u see. good luck!

@sandylane151 Wow thats cheap, my horse dentist said you can get some amazing horses from here! Where is it? My youngster came from here altho I didnt get him from here his prev owner did. Where is it?

My gelding come from here either 2006/2007 as a youngster. Anyone send him there or no who bred him. Would love to know his family history and possibly foal pics. His breeding name is Nantllesg, a few about but cannot find the breeders.

i went there yesterday and almost bought an amazing skewbald gelding. and there was a pair of grey hunters that had been to HOYS that were sold for £320 each!

yes it is bad luck, his name was blue but they renamed him lewi. hes a lovely horse just sorry i sold him to her as shes a nutter!
