This was made to be used in a review I made on this French site here: http://www.geekmodeblog.com/2009/06/splatterhouse-2.html#complet The first level of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive exclusive sequel to Splatterhouse. For those who don't know the Splatterhouse series of games, they're beat 'em ups with a horror theme with A LOT of gore, and we're talking 1992 for this one. It's one of those classic beat 'em ups where you can punch and jump and also jump kick, that's about it. There's also a sliding kick. For this installment in the series, they decided to make you more aware of the plot of the game by adding some text between stages, but that's not what we're here for, we want to see a huge atrocity spill his guts on the floor, that's what I'm talking about. The game is more difficult than its predecessor, a lot more I'd say to a point where it can be frustrating, but they included a password system, so you have infinite continues, kind of. The major problem is that it's too much like the first game, I mean it's totally the same game in a new setting, but it can also feel pretty similar on that level. It's more of a graphical upgrade than a true great sequel, but it's fun to play, so it's hard to evaluate. I say, in 3 years between the two games, it should have evolved. Video games change a lot in 3 years. On a side note, it's not the worst game, but it sells for too much on eBay and I don't recommend paying 30$ and up unless you're a huge fan (it's 800 Wii Points on the Virtual Console, so it's your choice, I still wouldn't get it though)...
What were the things hanging from the trees? Corpse?

They can't be anything else than corpses, but judging from the close shot we get of the last one during less than a second, I can definitely say they're not normal. Probably some kind of monstrous demonic life form.
