"Steve Gadd is to drumming as Pablo Picasso is to painting: modern yet elemental, groundbreaking but earthy, simple yet complex...and an important/ever-present part of our cultural panorama. I salute and thank the man whose timekeeping has become the language of our time", says the legendary Peter Erskine. Chick Corea's oppinion is that "every drummer wants to play like Gadd because he plays perfect... He has brought orchestral and compositional thinking to the drum kit while at the same time having a great imagination and a great ability to swing."

Steve Gadd is one of the most loved session drummers, he played live and recorded albums amongst others with Paul Simon, Al DiMeola, Paul McCartney, Steely Dan, Al Jarreau, Eric Clapton, Weather Report, James Taylor, Steps Ahead, Manhattan Transfer, Chick Corea, Tony Levin, etc. Back in the seventies he run with the other famous session players Richard Tee, Eric Gale, and Cornell Dupree the band Stuff, which was Joe Cocker's stage band in his best years.

On the Bratilava Jazz Days he would perform with his recent band Steve Gadd & Friends. His friends are of course great musicians and stars, masters of their insruments: the baritonesax player Ronnie Cuber, guitarist Paul Bollenback and the legendary piano player Joey Defrancesco.
