Updating Samsung LE40F71B firmware to version 1010SVC

The update fixes the overscan issue on HD 1080 pictures. The cable used is a R2332 serial to 3.5mm audio jack cable, however pins 2 & 3 are reveresed so it's known as an RS323 which connects to the service port on the back of the TV.

Thanks to Hayley and Simon for the cable. I originally used a TIVO serial cable, but that didn't work because pins 2 and 3 must be in reverse. The cable is really difficult/almost impossible to find, so many thanks again to them!

720p option shouldn't be available as the camcorder used does not record in HD.

No. The cable is almost impossible to locate.

Probably worth an ask on TV forums to ask if anyone still has it. Someone from AVForums.com saw my thread about it and posted me the cable.
