go for the plastic parts first, aluminum is waaay to expensive for beginners, it can get pretty expensive :( just remember to hit the kill switch before u hit the ground, saves so much more...

Bought me one of these badboys this weekend...400.00 crashed it next day. Have the PC simulator too.... My own fault though, Flew it in an apt complex parking lot... Gonna price the repairs today.

i already have a sim, but Ive been practicing with planes... i can fly the small indoor heli's but i cant seem to remember my orientation... wow. please ignore my spelling, ha ha. but yeah, Ive learned to turn at the lower side of the propellers and it will go back to normal but its just confusing i keep forgetting it, ha ha. hope ill be as good as that! ha ha.
that probably made no sense, but oh well!
How long you had your heli? Nice stuff.

First of all, get a simulator. I've been flying 5 years and still use the sim very regularly. The Blade is a tricky heli to learn on but very rewarding. Each crash generally costs about £20 so it's much cheaper to crash the sim! Good luck.
