My understanding was he hit head-on and suffered head truama; it's not clear from the video or reports if the car flipped...I don't think it did, I believe it hit the wall(s) three separate times. According to a newspaper account: "Don Alexander, a member of the track rescue team that was first on the scene, said Croft's safety harness and roll cage remained secure and his seat firmly fastened to the frame of his car."
