Originally I wanted to record an SDS7 demo, but as some of you might have experienced yourself, the old lady is sometimes a moody diva.... However it's always favourable to have a stack of SDSV brains in spare and I wanted to record something new.
The crashy white noise sound is a replica of the analog HiHat module which came with the very first Musicaid SDSV brains but has been replaced by a digital later after Musicaid turned into "Simmons Electronic Drums".

  • those cymbals dont come with the kit right?

  • @baboonlurker the cymbals are real cymbals which of course do not come with the kit. The pad on the left above the floor tom triggers an analog hihat module which had been available during 1981 (Musicaid time) and early 1982 until Simmons replaced it by the digital hihat module

  • You sing much better than the original!

  • Thanks... I am blushing...

  • Great video! it's a shame that the old sds 7 modules have crappy connectors..

Should be possible to retrofit them with better ones, but then you'll probably have to rebuild it from scratch.. Anyway.. Nice!

  • Do you have a SDS 2000? If so, I'd love to hear it on here. They're hard to come by.
