As Christians, in an effort to win souls- by showing love, the commandments of Christ (a reduction of the 10 Commandments), we must put our loving hearts first, before all other characteristics of man.

Pastor Stephen Anderson has erred in applying this sentiment. In his dealings with the Border Patrol, what did he put first? Was he putting forth a Christian heart of love, or an American heart of strength and patriotism for the Constitution?

I am an emphatic supporting of the Constitution. However, I disagree with the mode employed by Pastor Anderson in his interactions with Border Patrol agents.

I am concerned that this event may only serve to bolster the enemy against our self-evident rights. Nevertheless, if GOD is behind this, we will see a major victory for freedom resulting from this. This may not be clear for many years. It will not be possible to determine the truth for many, many years.

If it is the effort of man, there is no telling what might result.

In either outcome, the attitude of Pastor Anderson was inappropriate for one bearing the name of Jesus Christ.

  • Standing up for what is right is not un- christian. Raising your voice is not rude. Fighting wrong is not un -christian. Jesus did it. MLK did it.. The pastor was not combative but exercising his right given to us by GOD and the Constitution. Un-a-lienable rights. The rights we were born with. The pastor did what was right in his heart. Maybe God is doing this for us.

  • I agree that we are to contend for fairness and justice. I agree we should defend the fatherless to win.

We cannot yield the nature of God to pursue these matters, however. Godliness is first. In all we do, we must be Christian.

  • This is a nation founded under God, unique and in the past blessed, but we have drifted away from God (our leaders have, etc) and along with the drifting we are seeing our freedoms taken away. Who do you think is behind this. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? We should be as harmless as doves, but WISE as serpents (Matthew 10:16)

  • Thank you for this excellent comment. That is exactly right. We fight against powers and principalities, not the flesh. The attack on the subversion of Christianity must be fought FIRST in the spiritual battle- restoring righteousness through repentance and salvation; restoring relationship with GOD. SECOND we bring to the world fairness and justice.

  • Amen! Christianity is really a God's way.

  • Christianity and commons sense! Good commentary!

  • he was beaten for not co-operating with those militant thug-like cops. I've had over a dozen encounters with cops in the last decade, why i don't know. i look friendly i guess? anywho, if your polite and just answer a few questions in general you'll be fine. the Lauderhill police department did raise a baton at me and act unbelieveably rude, almost handcuffing me. give me dirty looks.

that's why I give the Jews and others the benefit of the doubt, when you are outnumbered...anything goes.

  • I have worked with high functioning mental adults in second job for years. I am their voice piece. Some are combative and for the safety of others I will control the situation. Likewise if any superiors violated in any way I would speak out until I was heard with the necessary intensity required for their quality of life to be maintained. This to me is a Christian duty. I feel the pastor is doing the same.

  • Thanks, wivanunu. You have a kind heart.
