  • This is almost as amazing as the Coleco Adam! Almost...

  • Wow, looks like something out an 80s computer sci movie...

  • Well, C128's V7.0 BASIC was far better. than plus/4 BASIC (music, sprite, memory banking, advanced disc commands). It had only one real problem: it was VERY slow...

  • Never tried programming a +4...but read much...it lacked spite capability due to the MOS TED and sound was VIC like...anyway awesome computer for kids to learn basic programming on....the 128 v7.0 is by far the best implementation of basic...imo.

  • Nothing against the Plus4 ... especially the lots of colors are nice.

However, as a C128 fan, I have to point out that the C128 Basic (V7.0) is surely no worse than Basic V3.5.

Think of V7.0 as very similiar to V3.5 with some commands extended and new ones for sprites, sound effects and music handling - it even plays music in the background and allows for Basic Subprograms in IRQ.

So if you like Basic V3.5, you also might like programming on the C128 (recommended anyway! ;)

  • Too true!

Everything else was seriously lacking in comparison...

  • +4 Basic was the best implentation I ever came across

  • so nice !!!

  • OMG... My baby.

The best 8Bit to learn on... Most powerful were the C64 & 128 of course, but the Basic of the C16 & Plus4 were far, far, farsuperior to anythign else and even today I have not seen anythign ascomplete or as useable as the C16/Plus4 Basic.

    I love this machine.
