During the GM Concept & Performance Drive event at Willow Springs International Raceway, Al Oppenheiser, director of concept and vehicle integration for GM's Performance Division, gave us a ride around the speed-limited coned course as an introduction to the Pontiac Solstice Weekend Club Racer.

The Porsche 356 can be called a glorified Volkswagen but I don't see how you can compare a modern Porsche with an air cooled Volkswagen. That makes about as much sense as comparing A Shelby GT 500 with a model T.

I would be glad to embarass that porsche of yours on the track in my Redline, straight or curvy. Haven't had an issue with a porsche yet on the track. I guess I just dont know what I'm missing. I know what your missing though. About $50k and still losing to a better car on the track LOL

A kit car, you drive a kit car and you have the audacity to call a Porsche a Volkswagen. Driving a kit car has to be like showing up at a party with an inflatable doll. Everyone there knows you will have a good time with it, but everyone knows you're unable to get what you want. Of course you don't brag about about it, who would? Oh and I don't own, nor have I ever owned a Solstice. What I drive is paid for, and yes, it is classier than your little glorified VW, but i don't feel the need to brag about it over the net
