  • I was re-enacting this whole scene to my mom. I started singing about the gods, and how Wotan rules over them. From the tree, he forged his omnipotent spear, and from that instrument the world is under his dominion. Then I was so into the whole act that I grabbed a lamp to be my surrogate, hoisted it up high into the air, and thrust it down crashing to the floor! Then the light bulb flickered and went out, and my mom said angrily, "You and your damn German opera!"

  • Zednik is the best Mime ever.

  • The best Mime and Wotan combo there ever was!

  • @skinboy8 yeah, here he's kinda wooden, but the "Leb Wohl" from this production is probably the greatest he'll ever have done!

  • i agree on Zednik. A great Mime. I am not so sold on McIntyre as Wanderer...

  • he way things are going these days that could pass as a modern production

  • I really like the singers and of course the acting of zednik its magnific. amazing ;)

    thy for posting

  • I'll adopt you. :)

  • Interesting--I think it is the best acting I have every seen in the Ring--it is the most natural and believable. Heinz Zednick's Mime is nothing short of genius.

  • I can only imagine how fantastic this must have been in the theater. Thank goodness for the video of the production.

  • I adore these two guys!

Their acting and singing is the world class that they deservedly were credited with.

Both voices are on the top with the most beautiful or intricate I've ever heard on record or live, and I don't think I missed anything of what is in the market...
