Thanks for the vid I've worked on the fv Excalibur for six years. Stocks are strong the regulations are strict times are changing for young fisherman to get into the business but there is a lot fish around. Thanks for the support in our industry.

@JCVdude there are no declining stocks in pacific nor west. the only threats to near coastal fisherys are seal over population and govt closures of the fishermans grounds and methods then after taking away his area and methods the following years catch rate is lower not because fish werent there any more but becazuse all the fish are always caught in tiny area they take away there areas make them sanctuarys then after next years lower rate of catch they say its lowest ever must close its lies

seals sea lions are most responsible for any decline in near coastal fish species in nor cal oregon and washington and alaska, the pacific nor west fishing industry is in no current danger except from the lies of peta etc that say there is no fish, theres as many fish as was before men came here, but our only threat to near coastal fishes like salmonoids (salmon) are from the epidemic levels of overpopulation of seals sea lions (pinnipeds) kill seals save fish amd fishermen

Yayyy Oregon <3 be evergreen always. Hooray! for the fishermen thanks for the delicious seafood! Much love

The stocks decline because they are OVERFISHED by boat captains that take take take and give nothing back.

Why on earth do we as a sovereign nation allow foreign fishermen to come in and even dredge the bottom of our fisheries? I doubt many of them do. We spend billions on defense and offense yet we allow everyone to do whatever they like to us and spit in our face as they do it.

I was a shrimp boat captain by the time I was 14, I am 53 now and the shrimp boat I own is tied to the dock

Is that because of overfishing or pollution or even both?

How is business for you these days? Has your fishery been impacted like the west coast has been with declining stocks?
