When I saw this movie it scared the shit out of me... an I saw it wth my mom.. she liked it too. One of the best thrillers of the late 70s. What a way to end the 70s with a chiller lke this. The cheap remake was Crap

@VoyeurDreamer The original is a three act play,nwith the middle act being a detective story and i think it makes the movie so much more interesting to watch. It's like getting two different movies in one. The remake failed miserably in my view because it tried to pad out the opening act of the original into a full length feature, which really only worked well for me as a short film, which is all it originally was until the director expanded upon it with the second and third acts.

yes the sounds better and picture better but when peopel say the orignal was better they mean better film not quality

I made the awful mistake of watching this movie while I was babysitting my 4 year old cousin. Sure enough, as soon as the beginning scene ended, the phone rang.

I didn't answer it...

i dont get why people always say the 1970s originals are better then the remake... they look like shit, the sound sounds like shit, and the actors act like shit. todays tech in movies is 100x better then tha 1970s crappy movies. whats next people are gona say cellphones are wack and start using pagers again?

Funny Story... I remember watching this movie in a near Niagra Falls camping ground on a rainy day. They were suppose to play Flight Of The Navigator but instead the cassette got mixed up in the box and this tape was inside... I must of been around 4 or 5 years old... Imagine a room full of young kids watching this ! Viewer ratings didn't exist back in the 80's ! I was traumatised and so were the other kids ! Remembering Good memories :)
