I'm going to join the Marines in a few years but it makes me kind of sad...that my mom is no longer in my life. She changed and did some stuff I wish she never did. Were no longer close and she's not the same person and she never will be. I'm mostly sad because on mothers day, everyone in the Marines with me will have those signs that say "I love you mom" and I wont be having anything. But I guess I got to keep my head held high :/

@usamarinecorps17 I'm so sorry you don't feel you have a mom to share this with. If you need or would like a surrogate "mom" to be with you during that time of BMT which is so hard to send you words of encouragement and help you along, I would be honored. I'm proud of you. I am the mother of an Airman. My son is graduating Tech School tomorrow as a Crew Chief on F15s.I also write to other Airmen without family. I'd be honored to do that for you. Let me know. :)
