Tommy is rock's first formal masterpiece.
LIVE AT LEEDS is the definitive hard-rock holocaust. It is the best live rock album ever made.

  • Would be amazing to see the video of this! I wonder why they never played such an extended jam on other versions of My Generation live?

  • They did a jam like this after My Generation at Isle of Wight 1970, also at Amsterdam 1969, Fillmore East 1968 ( very sycodelic by the way ) and at Tanglewood 1970 that I remember

  • They did play extended jams on other versions of My Generation live. Check out the DVD The Who at Kilburn 1977. It has a bonus disc of their 1969 London Coliseum show. They do a jam after My Generation that is very similar to this one.

  • Have it on my favourite videos :)

( Called Best part live at London Coliseum )

  • Awesome

  • Yes, only 3 of them (excluding singer, Daltrey) making this music is astonishing. There's no power in numbers......?

  • The donkey's doo dahs!

  • Was given this 37 years ago and still sounds as fresh as the 1st time I heard it. This music transcends to another level. I was extremely fortunate to have caught The Who live in the 70's, untouchable. I saw Zep, Floyd, Sabbath and many more who were brilliant, however, for sheer power to lift the audience out of their seats, The Who were an unstoppable force with Moonie & Entwhistle at the helm. Check the Hull version too on the Live at Leeds 40th aniversary issue. Absolutely blinding!

  • I swapped Live at Leeds on vinyl for the some other record (I forget which), donkeys years ago. Best deal I ever made. I've got all the re-issued CDs with Tommy etc but I want the original vinyl with me in my coffin when they bury me. Best rock record ever made. On the vinyl, just before they launch in to 'My Generation' you can hear Pete say "And now for a long, drawn out guitar solo". It was cut on all the CD reissues for some reason.

  • ROCK at it's finest!!!

  • who can dispute this as a masterpiece?

  • unfettered brilliance!

  • cool cool cool
