The resulting panic was duly reported around the world, gaining Welles notoriety and instant fame on both a national and international level.

And to think that the franch speaking countries (I personally live in Belgium), who copy every western succes (music, films, etc.) are not aware that this is the origin of a broadcast made some years ago here in Belgium. To think they're so ignorant to everything they don't understand... And... who t f is Rebaca Black?!
