  • how does this HTA GT2868 compare to a standard GT2871?

  • @ITRTurbo It spools a little faster than a GT2860 (28RS) but is touted to flow approximately the same as a 2871 up top. I run mine on a 1.8T at 25psi at 7000rpm

  • k didnt think so lol. hows it for daily driving im looking into getting one and they have a tendency to be garage queens once you start getting into major mods

  • @blebrun16 It is my daily driver... it drives pretty well as a daily, I only have a couple issues I want to take care of at part throttle. I'm running Eurodyne Maestro now, so I have the capability to tweak stuff here and there. I just hope I can fix the things that bug me. Specifically, the drive by wire formulas don't react the way I'd like them for super smooth part throttle acceleration. The turbo itself is AWESOME for daily driving. Boost response is very quick for the power levels

  • seems a little risky to run such high boost on stock internals

  • @blebrun16 where did you get that idea? definitely not stock internals.

  • i feel like all this is worth it ( converting to a gt-2868 anyway) but it seems so expensive like with the forged pistons, rods etc and obv along with buying the turbo kit and intercooler itself AND meth injection AND exhaust and ecu ANDDD the manifold..like isit worth it? how much to tune all this? at least 15k right?

  • Wow this is an old vid, if my question can find an experienced ear, i wanted to know a tad more about this audi a4. At one point i just thought it was the car my friends hot sister drove lol but it seem people can push this car. So i was wondering if this car is a good and affordable platform to work with? Also there are alot of models based on this sole a4 model so which one is the best for building up?

  • I know the engine, in its "stock" form, is not bullet proof but you can definitely push 320-340 WHP without doing rods if your tuning is adecuate and definitely using either race gas or WAI. VW made a fantastic engine out of the 1.8T, the same engine I ran with the GT28RS is runing today with a K04 at 19 pounds, still pulling nice and yeah, without work done to it.

  • stock internals can handle a lot, I don't understand how some guys say "they can handle X amount of power or X amount of boost, In my personal experience tough... I bolted on a GT28RS, Cams, Exhaust, 725cc ID, Clutch with prolite flywheel, WAI, FMIC by vibrant and used Eurodyne ME7 to tune my car, I ran 24 pounds all day every day for a couple years without a single problem, and I really push it sometimes during the day, drove to Cali and Vegas frecuently and never had an issue.

  • man thats my dream right there. Buy a used Audi A4 with high miles for $3500, strip all the old shit, and in with the new. Bore out the engine, rebuild top to bottom, trow in a 6 speed manual.
