  • like it zellph cool mix of a hobo stave and rocket stove! nice work mate! i was thinking of scaling down a rocket stove for camping and came across your vid, nice work mate! i think i'll have a go at this camping size one but am thinking of making a smaller diameter in chimney that is insulated with ash.

thank you kindly for the vid.

    stay safe pip

  • @PiPphiltitley Thank you for the compliment. I had fun making it and burning wood in it. It works nice. Have fun making your own. I'll stay safe and you do the same.

  • Isn't this a balancing act stove. what if the surface isn't that flat and even.

  • @afterthefox7 Yes, the pot support was just for a demo......make it any size you want.

  • Quite a little furnace with a huge flame!

Going to try this. Better than most "hobo" stoves, because the fuel feed is sheltered to hold fuel and weather/wind proof it.

For high-power times, I'd think making another half-diameter taller above the burn can, and then pot skirt or windscreen that serves dual purposes would be ideal. The fire is completely contained & covered for lower-profile camping uses, and wind/weather proofing, and capturing the most heat produced.

  • @JFrazer4303 Thank you, yes, make it any size that fits your needs.

  • I love your design man, I was looking for something compact to make. I think this is the best home madestove I have seen so far. Good work!

I got a fruit cocktail can, now I will only need a square cane so I geuss I'm gonna eat corned beef today

  • Very Nice.

  • exellent little cooker there.. only thing that would make it better is lowering you pot stand a little so it is more effecient and use less wood to boil. Great design!!

  • how long does this take to boil water?

  • nice. basically a rocket-stove, without the added insulative outer layer

  • the best vid yet thx for your time/effort/ingenuity <S>
