Tina Benkiser GOP Texas Chair Lies About Lawsuit

Tina Benkiser, the chair of the Republican Party of Texas, stood in front of the RPT Convention in 2008 and blatantly lied about the outcome of the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was not dismissed because is was frivolous, but only because the judge was unsure of her jurisdiction. Furthermore the appellate court only agreed with the jurisdictional issue. The lawsuit is probably going to be refiled in the correct jurisdiction.

Never was the RPT or Tina awarded attorney's fees.

This was a move to further divide the convention between old entrenched GOP and young Ron Paul supporters. She knew if she could turn the old GOP against the younger crowd then it would allow her unlimited power an the convention chair.

If anyone, old or new GOP, knew what Tina was covering up in Neueces County this would have been a different convention.

Did she really think that no one would notice that she lied? Not only did the people who have followed the lawsuit know she lied, but others became interested and discovered her lie. If Republicans want to be a political force, we must do it with honesty and integrity. She does not represent either quality.
