K-wire Removal from Healed Hand

Video of the removal of my cast, x-rays, and removal of the metal pins that held my broken hamate bone together for 5 weeks while it healed. Special thanks to Dr. Rebecca Yu. Nope. Mine did swell up after.

I never broken any other bone. The doctor had a fairly calm manner, so that probably rubbed off on me. I was also just happy to have the cast come off and actually get the pins out.

its 2:30 am and I up looking at my recently broken wrist, my doctor has informed me that he´ll be pulling this wire out by next week... I can´t stand the thought of having this thing stuck in my bones let alone have someone twist it around a bit. Luckily we have some pretty good doctors here in Brazil and I hope I´ll just pass out by the time they yank it.

Did your hhand or knuckle area swell up after you got the k-wires removed? because I just got mine removed and my hands swollen as hell and sore as hell!~ im beginning to worry.

fuckkkk i broke me 5th on my left hand and got the k wire in liike a week later, i gottta have it in for a week but i dont know if they r taking it out after that week or not :s im not keen on watching them pulling the wires out O.O fuck

I had 2 of these pins inside the middle of wrist. They held two small bones from moving while my ligament reattached. I never had them sticking through the skin like this though. Creepy!
