Dingoes are an endangered species in Australia. About two hundred pure Alpine dingoes remain in the wild in the State of Victoria Australia. Dingoes are Australia's top land predator and arrived in Australia 5000 plus years ago. They replaced the Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) which was a large marsupial type dog. By replacing it they cemented their place in Australia's biodiversity. In areas where dingoes have been shot, trapped and poisoned, any perceived short term gain by primary producers has been outweighed by the inbalance created in the immediate environment the dingoes once lived.

  • Lovely music. It must have taken you ages to photograph them digging their den.
