As for money, United didn't start out with loads of cash did they? They worked themselves up, got investors due to their performances and attracted fans from around the world. Besides being a brilliantly managed football team, they are a greatly managed business and that's where the money came from, we earned it.
How did City earn it? They became a plaything of some rich oil tycoons and were only bought because the club could be bought CHEAP, aka, you weren't worth anything.
