A 50X time lapse of the setting sun illuminating the ash from the Chilean Puyehue Volcano, taken from the summit of Mount Lofty on the 14th June 2011. Time period was 20 minuets, which is compressed down to 24 seconds.

  • Yeah, you could actually see the ash cloud last night. Not at first, but after the sun set, it lit up like an ultra thin, wispy red cirrus veil. The colour covered the entire sky too for a short while. Deep blood red to the west, grading to a bluey purple to the east.
