  • @jun090706 I had to put a medium head on top and a thin head on the bottom. Then tuned both heads pretty tight to get that sound. I tried other heads and either got a dead sound or a "thud". However it is one of the loudest snares I have used. Hope you find a sound for it, cheers.

  • how did you tune this ? i have the same model but i can't seem to get that "open" sound you have. help ? thanks.

  • great sound

  • @ptc5010 brass snare drums tend to have a lot more crack and bite than wood snares, that's one of the most important differences

  • I LOVE THE LITTLE SQUEALER SNARE BECAUSE I HAVE ONE BUT NO OFFENSE THIS SNARE IN THIS VIDEO SOUNDS LIKE SHIT!!!

  • @chiodos82 At Guitar Center, around $200.

  • @baddog16543 Thank you. I have already bought the little squealer and you would've been right. It's awesome.

  • @ptc5010 i own this snare, and i think its better than the black brass one. i tried both at guitar center side by side and the brass one is pretty ringy and doesnt seem to have as deep of a tone, probably because its not as deep of a snare. this video shows the snare with a medium tuning but if you tighten it up a little theres less ring and just makes a great loud, deep crack and pop. go to the store and try both, i think this one has more projection because of the vent holes.

  • Does this snare have more or less projection than a pork pie black brass snare? Also, what other comparisons can be made over the two?

  • how much for the snare?
