i know my buddies would have probably took advantage of this program. they all finished continuation school to get there ged then signed up.

Getting a high school diploma in the Army makes sense. If you drop out, there are few jobs you can get anyway.
My only concern would be that the recruits may not be aware of what they're signing up for.
