Mr. Smith's character was by design, of course, the foil for virtually the rest of the cast and I admire his timing and integrity in the role of Cuthbert Rumbold. Not too shabby to be a recognizable and beloved figure in one of the greatest ensemble casts of TV lore. I view the episodes of "Are You Being Served" and it is easy to imagine that these actors will never age, grow infirm or pass away. Thank goodness for digital media and the preservation of this show. Steady on, Mr. Nicholas Smith.

molly sugden came to fresno calif before she passed ...and appeared on the pbs kvpt channel....what a treat to go see them in person ,,,, wish now i had gone!
