PONTYPOOL are desperate for a win and meet a Pontypridd side that lost at Carmarthen last week and who will be without wing Lewis Williams (ankle), fly-half Aaron Bramwell (hamstring), scrum-half Gavin Morris (knee) and prop Stuart Williams (back).

However, Pontypridd have six wins and two draws from the eight fixtures played between the clubs in the semi-professional era and Bramwells absence is at least compensated by the release of David Flanagan from regional duties, with fellow Blues player, hooker Rhys Williams, also returning from injury.

Pooler are without hooker and captain Leighton Jones and give starts to hooker Rhys Buckley and No 8 Morgan Allen, while the captaincy passes to scrum-half Matthew Thomas.
