it is not a true iq test if it is language dependent. it sounds like what you described is a general proficiency test instead of an iq test.

There's different languages for the I.Q tests. Like, there could be one in Spanish, or Swedish, or even German. Also I said English would be on an I.Q test. As in

vocabulary and reading comprehension, which is English.

this is why true iq tests use a neutral language that can be translated to different languages with consistency and accuracy. it is unfair for a non english speaker to score lower on an iq test because of language barrier.

languages are considered arts. many famous artists have lower than average iq.

Intelligence quotient. That's what I.Q means. Not if you're good in math, it means all subjects. Math, English, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. Not just one subject.
