Me drawing a horse in pastel pencils.
1- Line drawing and reference picture
2- start with highlights and shadows
3- build up the layers
4- lots of layers
And that's pretty much it.

  • OK.. I tried to save it as 640x480, but that resulted in a 650MB file. Saved it as 320x240 (which is why it's a little ... crappy) and it's 7MB. Can someone help me out here? Using iMovie 06.

  • Is this used with oil or soft pastels?

  • not a photoshop for sure

  • loliloliloli

  • @10milesfromnowhere yes thats the problem, maybe its a tad too soft i think, thats way i wanted to try some other kinds of paper :) btw, i love the horse, it looks stunningly beauty and soft!

  • same person as highwaykind by the way, just a hassle to log out and log in again. And - you're welcome! I just 'discovered' velours by the way, like the soft effect but not always the best solution for what you want to draw :)

  • @10milesfromnowhere thank you very much! :)

  • Canson MiTeintes paper :)

  • Can you please tell me what kind of paper you draw on? i mean with pastels. i've tried velour paper but this doesn't look like velour? :)

  • I've heard most people use knives, but I just use a regular pencil sharpener. It's a bit more wasteful, but much less of a hassle to get a sharp point.
