In theft guy 1 has something guy 3 wants so guy 3 takes it. In "piracy" guy 1 ha something guy 2 has so guy 2 buys it from guy 1, and guy 2 being compassionate doesn't want his friend guy 3 to have to do that too because it costs a lot so guy 2 makes a copy and gives one to guy 3 as a gift.
