  • Thanks for the nice comments, it's one of my favorites too. This was the second production of 1776 I was involved in. It doesn't seem like that long ago that we lost Ray (Franklin) even though it's been three years now. He taught drama in Redwood City CA for 35 years. There was an overflow crowd at his memorial. The HS dedicated the stage there to him an rightly so.

  • These guys are really good. Where is this?

  • Thanks. Show was performed in Saratoga California.

  • Was this a broadway? If not what was this exactly? I mean I know it's 1776 lol. This was really good!

  • Thanks! Community theater production by Saratoga Drama Group (Saratoga, CA) in January 2006. I posted it here because we lost Ray Doherty (Ben Franklin) a few months ago to cancer.

  • Aw! I'm sorry for the loss. Were you a part of this play?

  • Sound Designer and Technical Director. Also filled in as Stage Manager a couple of nights.

  • Very impressive. Amateur doesn't necessarily mean amateurish - and this one is nicely pro. A fine tribute to the man who has passed away. Well done.

  • HAHA Funny song!

  • the turkey WOOT

  • The actor playing franklin is really good

  • Have a great Independence Day, all!

  • This is my all time favorite musical, especially since I love everything colonial and history in general. These actors do a wonderful job with this song. The set looks pretty good. Whoever you all may be, Thank You for performing this play. Today's politicians could learn something about genuine dedication, morality and just causes from the story of the Declaration of Independence. THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • He's just to young for the part.

  • I agree. His voice is too young for the role.
