Wolf called it Forty-four

@eldorado62 Roosevelt Sykes recorded it first in 1929 and he also added the lyrics. The song dates back to the early 20's though and was being played by many other artists.

The phrasing is amazing when I realize every mistake I think I hear, he purposefully places in the song, only proven by him repeating said rhythm, or phrase seemingly with ease. It seems as though his expression is that of dis-array or strife. This guy really has opened my eyes to this genre, and has expressed to me what it really means for him to play the Blues. Very nice.

This is one catchy tune! Once you start listening to it, it is hard to stop.
I've listened to it about 4 or 5 times in a row already.

He may have been part the bridge 'tween delta and Chicago styles
Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think Howlin' Wolf did the original version & it was called ' .44 Blues'. No doubt, R.L.Burnside was one of the great Mississippi bluesmen.

It would have been nice to see him play the song instead of the psychedelic artsy crap.

@whemadre I would have posted a video of him playing instead of this psychadelic artsy crap if there was a video of him playing this song. I thought it would be good to at least have this bad ass song up on youtube. Feel free to post the video of him playing it.
