@Sonicisbadazz because what they want is not really something original. they want the old rewarmed but to live under the illusion that it is different, thank god for abrams who ignored all those complainers, bring on Trek 12!

U hit d nail right on d head. I'm not a trekkie but as soon as I watched dis movie I fell in luv wit it. Its fun, smart nd sexy. Cldn't hav said it better myself. I'm glad I've finally met sum1 who's just as sick as I am of all dose loyal trekkies bitchin bout hw dis nu trek isn't like d old trek. In my opinion JJ Abrams did 4 star trek wat Christopher Nolan did 4 Batman

this movie was just perfect with perfect plot perfect action scenes perfect acting and perfect character development I am a treki now

Dude I so agree with you, as the TV spot said, "This isn't your father's Star Trek." It is a completely new one, that looks more badass than the original series.

What the heck is with people? They spend all kinds of time complaining about how much generic unoriginal crap is out there, but the new Star Trek changes everything and suddenly they get mad it isn't like the old ones? I have a couple of phrases to describe this phenomena:
--hypocrisy
--double standards
--getting what you ask for, then bitching because they do what you asked them to
--ungrateful

How about I give the movie a fair chance to prove itself and go see it, instead of bitching about how its different from what's come before.
