  • @Roizman79: dont diss Horns cause i play one and they are cool, we are suppost to play with vabrato and there was nothing wrong with it

  • 1:25

  • le solo du hautbois fait merveille !

  • I was throughly enjoying the beautiful oboe solo but I could not stand to listen any more after hearing the cello entrance ruin the color of the piece by not playing sul D.

  • @Roizman79: can I ask you what you dislike about the Horns' sound? IF it's perchance the vibrato, that's apparently supposed to be the way they're meant to be as per the Russian school of horn-playing. [That "Eastern vibrato" was inherited from the French and then became more standard in the Eastern bloc under the communist influence.]

On the other hand, it might be a few flubs on their part that you're unhappy over, in which case I'd be more inclined to agree with you.

  • @upsarinbam: maybe it's not as well-known compared to his ballet-music, or his last 2 symphonies. [Nevertheless it still deserves to be as well-known as anything...utterly gorgeous!]

  • That moment at 1:26, where the second theme begins is the reason I play music. Speaking of actually being there in person, it's even more different to be PLAYING it, being directly beside the basses and celli (I was playing 2nd trumpet on it), just listening to the resonance. It tugged at my heartstrings every single time, especially at the chord at 1:40 here (and subsequent spots when the second theme is repeated). In my few years playing so far, this is easily my favorite piece to play.

  • I feel the best way to hear and judge a symphony is by actually attending. I don't think videos do justice because the sounds may become a little bit distorted. Still, the 2nd mvmt is my fav. out of the 4. Lovely!

  • Bassoon actually has the solo at the end. And it could use a lot more vibrato in my opinion.

  • hola soy oboista en la orquesta sinfonica de bolivar y tengo 15 años, estamos montando la 4 y la 5 de Tchaikovsky y me gusta mucho este movimiento de la 4 y el 2 mov de la 5
