Tasca de Plata restaurant in Canton, Michigan. ¡Viva el arte! (Long live the art) Did you know that bagpipes come from Spain to Scotland and Ireland? The first selection was performed by Daniel Sánchez on gaita (Spanish bag pipes.) As the performers entered the stage area. Daniel played a Spanish anthem and Galician Xota, followed by a medley of Galician Muieiras (old traditional songs) from northern Spain along with a tune called Muiñeira de Vilanova" from the group Milladoiro. (Note: all comments are by a WSU music history student for Dr. Naylor's class and not by the performers)
