I always thought this scene from Babylon 5 and the music from Terminator 3 went well together... for some reason the end has been cut off. It should fade to white and then you hear Kosh: "and so it begins".
I think the "hazard to navigation" thing was more in the sense of raiders using the station as a launch base against shipping lanes and such. Better to destroy it than let that happen.
When you play it backwards, it makes one relize that there are also beginnings. Endings are inevidable, but are only possible if you have beginnings so one should cherish those 'beginning' moments.
The offical reason given in the show was they blew up the station at the end of its service life to make the spacelanes safe. That never made sense to me as how is having billions of bits and pieces drifitng through space safter then one big one.
This is what John Conner(I said in a sad way):The Future has not been written, there is no fate but what we make for ourselve's,and he wish he could believe that.
The maintenance guy (JMS~!) was on the last shuttle out I guess, with the others. One thing I really like seeing that is Zack putting his arm around Delenn. With Sheridan going he was gonna look after her - not romance, but Zack being what he always was, the stand up guy's stand up guy. Man I miss this show.
so why did theyhave to blow up the station? and how did that maintenance worker get out?!?!? So typical: screw the janatorial staff as they are the last to know!!

And in the end, Joe was there to turn off the lines.
