Tribute to a very cool Swinging Sixties movie, DUFFY. The publicity called it "Some helpful hints for those who are very rich, very beautiful, very hip, elaborately oversexed, tuned in, turned on and bored to death."

The music is the main title theme by Ernie Freeman.

Update: This was recently released on DVD (in widescreen)! Hurray! Now could we have the soundtrack on CD too please?

Update 16 January 2011: I think that Susannah York never looked lovelier than in this movie. RIP.

No copyright abuse intended, but if the owners mind, the video will be deleted, of course.

  • This is very cool, looks great! Have never heard of the movie before.

  • @MultiCathy1 Thank you! Few people know it, I believe. It wasn't a great hit at the time. But I like it a lot.

  • @aplantage

And James Fox looks like David Bowie, true! Especially 1:11..

..or David Bowie looked like James Fox, who knows.. :))

  • @MultiCathy1 Yup, I agree. It made me smile to see Bowie and Fox together in ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS.

  • (William )James Fox, is oh so cool in this movie

  • @Mavrilon So glad that you've seen it. He's absolutely groovy. Lots of other reasons to recommend the movie too though. Eg I think that the late great Susannah York has never looked lovelier.

  • anyone knows the title of the discotheque scene song?

  • One of the coolest movies ever.

  • @Mavrilon He sure does. :-) And he seems to be having fun playing such a naughty, natty playboy. That he was on drugs at the time shows though. Spot on for the character, but not a good thing for him, of course. In a documentary on PERFORMANCE, he says that he regards DUFFY as a failed compromise between genre and art film. Perhaps, but I like it very much nonetheless, and I think that it deserves to be better known than it is.

  • Very cool movie. James Fox looks absolutely delicious
