"Why Africa Matters" was the opening theme of a two-day conference held in Brussels this week. Portugal has made Africa a key priority during its EU presidency. But it's not the only one. China is Africa's second biggest trading partner after the EU. In this edition of Agora, two experts offer their views on why China will play an increasingly important role in shaping the continent's future.

The Old colonial countries mostly from the West raped and disorientated Africa. The wealth for the Development seen today in the west has been made on this robbed wealth.. Asia and Africa is what it is today because of Colonialism. The Chinese are willing to pay a price for the goods, a better price than what the west will pay. The colonials on the other hand just grabbed and took it away. The West is sorry that they cannot do the same today as well. So China will be criticized always

China is in Africa to stay whether anybody likes it or not Chinas. Long term, objectives are anybody's guess. I think the get China out of Africa campaign will heat up very soon. Europe will not give up Africa without a fight unfortunately there are many uncle tom African decent people. Who will assist them for the few crumbs they'll get while the white men calls them nigger behind there backs.

Africa's close relationship and even adoption of many European languages as their official language have only offered Africa dubious aid, slavery, colonialism, apartheid and poverty.
Africa must give the Chinese the same access they have given Europe for centuries but which the Europeans have mindlessly abused.China wants to do strightforward business unlike the complex dubious trade deals Europe imposes on poor African nations.

More European hypocracy I don't know yet how the Chinese in Africa will be I do know. Europes record in Africa is replete with racist bullshit, and still doing everything they can to keep Africa weak.
