Took a 100 gallon tank. Put a northern pike and a walleye in it. Put a scoop of fathead minnows in. Northern ate 6 in about 2 minutes. Walleye ate nothing. Northern has almost doubled in girth as seen in this video.

  • wow. you guys really are borderline retarded... but it is funny to watch. Never seen people defend a fish everyone hates so much in my life

  • Northern: While not proven to be "too many", harvest anyway- a definite threat to muskie and compete for food sources with walleye. Desire smaller numbers, bigger fish. Propose opening up ice-fishing for higher harvest and for improving winter economy.

  • Actually northern pikes aren't parasites at all. You can find the same fact from official researches. Fortunately i know only finnish ones on Net but you'll find something in english too if you try, i'm sure.

  • and northern pike in most lakes are not parasites ther fish. so u need to do a little bit of research and stop killing all the pike

  • how long is your pike? 1.5 feet?

  • love the rocks and soil ... very natural ! congratulations !

  • Those fish should be in a much BIGGER tank!!! Or better yet a lake!!!

  • when getting a tank for a pike do i wanna get length or height? would i also need more then 100 gallon tank?

  • How would you feed these pikes? I mean I'm thinking of catching myself one before winter but where will I get my food? buying goldfishes everyday is way too expensive.

  • Well the Northern Pike is definitely not a junk fish and the DNR for WI does NOT recommend keeping all/trashing all Northerns caught. As an angler it is your responsibility to know the laws of the land/lake and follow them.

Did you know that the WI DNR contracts out to hatcheries to give them Northerns to stock various lakes with? You don't do that with a parasite fish. Northerns are NATIVE to these northern waters, they are a fun gamefish that are specifically targeted by anglers.

  • you need more bottom cover like, branches, weeds etc. it makes the fish funner to watch and they are much more active because they can adapt easier

  • either way, there is way too little room for a fish this size in that tank.

  • get some cover in there dude....
