The song is Γιαντα (Gianta) by ΓΙΑΝΝΗΣ ΠΑΡΙΟΣ (giannis parios). The paintings are from William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
Pan (Πάν) is the archetype of animal instinct and lust. He is half-man, half-goat, and his tale, originating in Arcadia in Greece, serves as a warning for sexual promiscuity.
He is born of nymphs, who are sprites of nature, beautiful but not loyal. His early love for Syrinx had led him to his degraded life. Since then, he would wait in the forest, itself a symbol for the unknown yet to be civilized, and would seduce women as they would come. He would first cause them panic, and then soothe that fear away with his music.
His appearance was then taken by Christians and used as the image we know of the devil.
Ancient Greeks tried to rationalize some of the social problems that destroy civilization, and living with gratification of animal instinct was one such problem. The Ancient Greeks rightfully recognized that fear was the prime animal instinct, from which arose lust and others.
I hope everyone enjoys it!
