Animal Control Is A Scary Place To Be

The animals in this video are in the Lafayette Animal Control at 613 Pont Des Mouton Road in Lafayette, Louisiana. There are many animal rescue volunteers with various non-kill rescue groups who do their best to save these poor souls who find themselves on death row at a euthanizing facility. Their time is very limited. If our rescues had the room and the money, there would be no animals in the Lafayette Animal Control. But, sadly, we can not save them all. We need YOUR help! If you are local and can adopt or foster, please do so! If you are not local, either check out your local animal control or your local non-kill rescue who saves from the pound, to adopt or foster in your area. If you can not adopt or foster, please consider donating to a non-kill rescue that helps save animals in danger at their local animal controls. ya its way to harsh for animals to be in there i have two dogs and 1 cat and one hamster and i love them 2 death i take good care of them and im going to rescue a dog probaly next week depends on my parents

man if i could i would go there now and adopt every single animal there just to see there lives change watching this video reminds me of how ppl could b so evil to these poor things! wat did they do to desurve some life like dis! if one person would tell me wat is so important to hurt them like this i would never no!! well fuck them for ever puttin there hands on them hope they go to hell!! man i wish i could b u! see those animals eyes ya it hurts but still just bin there is wat counts right?

@mycatranch Amen, however it needs to start with the people employed within most of the services to begin with, where we live I know of only one officer who has any training or education within the animal field at all,,,the rest just filled an open position and have no clue or even care really. Just read the job descriptions around the country of open animal control officer positions. Very few of them require anything more than be 18 or 21 and a high school diploma, Low pay long hours

@dellyuk That is true and one of the reason those of us in animal rescue work hard to try and make changes to improve things. It is a slow and tedious process. If those who care about animal welfare will all work together, in time, laws and changes can be made to improve things.

@mycatranch the laws are not strict enough in most places to do anything, small fines generally if anything at all. yes his or her comments are rediculous however most found guilty and restricted even from owning animals have a new puppy or kitten within a week of the fine.

i got my cat from animal control who said she was found by herself with no food or water and was covered in fleas and she was only a kitten. its sad
