  • my friend where you get the pump ?

  • It is a small marine bilge pump - West Marine carrys them but even Wart mart might have what you need. You do have to match pump amps with panels output.

These pumps are low amps but they don't put out much pressure.

  • its pretty good, where do you get the solar and the pump,

  • I got the solar panel at a closeout from

Homedepot - but you can find them on the WEB. You will need to match the panel

output (watt) = pump Amp X voltage. The pump I used was a small bilge pump - good volume / low discharge head. This worked well with my application but might not be suitable for moving water where elevation is required. Good Luck

  • Would you be so kind as to share specifics with me... name of make/model on pump, etc. Any details would be greatly appreciated! Nice work.

  • The pump was a simple bilge pump for a

boat - probably a 500 gph unit - it said it needed ~ 1.2 Amp full load - which would match to total 20 watt output. That would be based on a discharge head of 6 - 8ft.

If you think it would be useful I could do a video - selecting a panel /pump for different application.

  • Your video made me hungry for Oysters, I used to Live/Work in the bayou's of Southeast Louisiana, every winter on low tide, I'd go to my favorite spot for Coon Oysters and sit and shuck some and eat right there on the spot...them home to shuck a few buckets for the freezer....I was always stocked up with Oysters for Gumbo's.....Good Video...:)

  • I knew a guy who had a setup like this except he used it to pump the lake water to water his lawn.

  • thankyou

  • Great job. I'd love to see how it turns out. I don't have the know-how to build a solar pump from scratch like you.

  • I think it would be great to see a video on some details on this... I am planning on installing a series of 55gallon plastic drums for water catchment / distribution and seeing what solar based options are out there would be great. Maybe you can post links to the resources you bought from so folks can reproduce what you're doing. Thanks for the quick reply!
