These were the days of the racers, not the bank accounts... Where the races were decided on the track, not in the pits...

And just look at the top 5...

    1. Nigel Mansel

    2. Gerhard Berger

    3. Alain Prost

    4. Ayrton Senna

    5. Nelson Piquet

What I'ld give to see them in action once more... pitty that's not possible...

These were the days of honor, respect and pure racing...

Awesome highlights! The only interest I had in Formula One back in 1991 was playing Monaco Grand Prix on a Sega Genesis. I've only been watching F-1 since 2009, but I know I would have really enjoyed watching Ayrton Senna when he was racing.

Well said. If god wanted me to go to church, he wouldn't have given me things like Formula One and Sebastian Vettel! (Yes, I've only been a fan since 2009.)

off course today is as well, however, today, there are so many electronic aids that the talent they have doesn't really show anymore because when they make a mistake, many times an electronic aid steps in to help them correct it, in the early 90s and before, you had way less or even no aids at all... that is why.. i'm certainly not saying Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel or Jensen Button (examples) are bad racers, i'm only saying that they can't fully show their talent due to those driving aids.

I was on the outside of Club corner, just slightly back from where Senna eventually ended up stopped on that day. What you can't hear is the raucous cheer which went up when he stopped...louder than any football crowd. I was 10 in 1991, and I remember it like it was yesterday. I have since taken my 11 month old son to Silverstone, and explained to him, what happened on this special day....Photos and paintings of this moment, adorn my walls - absolutely momentous.
