Out again..Trying to pick up some old coins...Digging alot of trash while digging all those Iffy signals,& trying to see if I can pull another silver or wheat cent out of a heavily pounded school lot..If you dig only good signals there...You only get the surface clad...So I dug targets with jumpy TID numbers, and broken but repeatable audio...Then I got a call from a co-worker/friend in a neighboring town...He said 'They are tearing out the old brick street & I remember you wanted to metal detect it'.....Out the door I went...When I got there,I realized they must have restored the old brick with-in the last 20-30 years, cause it looked too good....So I stuck to the city parkway/easement & found a few goodies there...

  • What kind of deterter do you use? What kind do you think is the best value??

  • @wwood14 ....Visit my homepage to find out what equipment I use, digging tools pinpointers, and books that I read about detecting can be found there as well...What detector is the best value...Depends on your budget..

  • What about gold. Where do you find gold in Ontario?

  • @pkrska I don't know..I live in the U.S....But I think the same should apply in Ontario.

  • I have never found any silver yet but when i pull pennies out of the ground that are dated in the 80's and 90's (for example) they are completly filthy to the point that i cant tell what they are. do silver coins stay cleaner in the ground because of the material?

  • @Silv3rCollector ........Yes ,silver & gold do not currode like copper & other materials..They often come out of the ground looking like the day they were dropped after rinsing w/water.

  • so cool..

  • What do you use to clean your various metals? New to this hobby/sport - detector is in the mail and I'm getting excited! Thanks much for taking the time and sharing

  • How much would u sell the barber quarter for

  • does your metal detector tell you what metal you've found?

  • @Silv3rCollector pennies from the 80s and 90s were zinc. Copper shouldn't corrode in the same way.

  • Any "43 wheaties?

  • You know where is the best place to look for things like these? At a bathing beach if you live near one. You wouldn't believe the things you can find there...
