Back in 1986 my mum from Sri Lanka was on holiday in UK to see me, a student here in UK. Took her to famous Sunday market Wembly, shopping. After a few hours of shopping, as we were leaving the place we walked past a music stall and they were playing 21 years. We didn't even know who the singer was. My mum stopped immediately and spent her last five pounds on Daniel O'Donnell casette. I can proudly say she was the first ever to take Daniel's music to Sri Lanka !! She still treasures the casette.
WOOOOOOOOW...What a surprize to come by this song, was listening to some Irish tunes for I am Irish too....and here stood this song...hadn't heard this in centuries....I have sung this thru the years...but now I want to do it more....My dad use to sit me on his knee and sing this old tune...such a sad song...Thanks for posting this song...God Bless...Hugs KEN from Orlando, Florida, USA
Good version but I think Ryans Fancy do it better. Irish Canadian group, they sing this song in a much more traditional way.

The best i have heard this sung is by Shane Moore, who was a trainee soldier back in 1974, when i was in Army training .

Wow. You managed to ruin a classic folk song with your douchebaggery. Congrats.

This is a great song sung by Daniel. Any song that Daniel sings is great. He has so much talent. What a lovely voice he has.
